Workshop Description
This two-day workshop is intended for mediators who want to advance their practice of Transformative Mediation and who have had basic mediation training in that model.  The most current materials and thinking about Transformative Mediation will be presented.  Each participant will make a videotape of a role-play and receive feedback from a coach and other training participants.  For those interested in applying for Certification as a Transformative MediatorTM through the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation, this is an opportunity to create your video tape.

Participation in coached role-plays will be the center of the workshop experience.  Coach and peer feedback along with theoretical material will assist participants to:

• Better understand the relationship between transformative theory and practice
• Reflect upon consistency of mediator practice with transformative principles and premises
• Gain awareness of the impact of mediator interventions on the parties
• Observe how the use of mediator influence affects the process
• Increase mediator competency of moves and strategies that support opportunities for empowerment and recognition.

Course prerequisites and enrollment limitations
Participants will be expected to have had previous transformative mediation training.  Because of the nature of the training, space will be limited to 20 participants.

What does it cost?

An early bird discount fee of $400 will be accepted for registrations paid in full by Saturday, October 1, 2012.  The fee for registrations received thereafter is $440. Please add $60 for PA C.L.E. credits (12 substantive).  Add $10 if a NASW member or $20 if a non-member for 12 PA Social Work C.E.C.’s.
